Bolsonaro has been detained after authorities concluded he posed a concrete flight risk while under domestic detention.

The ex-president was sentenced of orchestrating a government overthrow in the ninth month and handed more than a 27-year term in prison, but he was staying under home detention pending court reviews.

Top Judicial Official the presiding justice said the action to imprison the septuagenarian politician was a safety action after fresh information were revealed.

This included attempting to break his ankle monitor and a invitation to a public vigil that could facilitate a possible escape.

Legal Document Reveals Escape Risks

In a paperwork permitting the detention, Justice Moraes said intelligence from the centre monitoring Bolsonaro's house arrest suggested the ex-president's "intention to break the electronic ankle bracelet to ensure success in his escape.
