Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game winning streak came to an end by Sunderland prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against north London rivals Tottenham this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is out on Friday.

Olly is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful artist and has been a star of multiple charity football games over time - but he is not intending a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My team was losing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse his partner have a young family, Madison and their son, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their attack is now stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look strong again.

West Ham's only away win this season came at Forest in August, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what on earth do I predict here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: The home team are doing well but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a few observers under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four matches.

My son advised me to get Brentford forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six games.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their team but it still feels like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of last month.

However I am not going to choose that. Instead, I really need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Considering the home side's home form, the only team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that Fulham are on a poor run... but they have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
